Virtually every aspect of commercial, residential and public works construction is regulated at the state level in Arizona.

Separate commercial and residential licensing requirements exist for construction contracts exceeding $750 (including labor and materials).

Pre-qualification is also required for all state highway work in the state.

Owners performing work themselves or contracting with sub-contractors are exempt from the license requirements.
